Godfather fans, rejoice - a game based on the classic film series is on its way to a mobile near you soon.
The Godfather was developed by Hitcent under license by Paramount Pictures, and is a free to play RTS with RPG elements. What that involves in actual gameplay terms is, as you'd expect, getting involved in mob skirmishes, building estates, and enlisting other players into your mob.
The plot isn't based on any of the films, but it is set inside the same universe and is clearly inspired by them. Instead, we get a totally original new story set in post-prohibition New York.
You play as a lowly member of the Corleone family, and must work your way right to the top until you're one of Vito's most trusted allies - at which point you'll have to gain valuable territory and make a ton of money to stay there.
The Godfather will launch this year for free on iOS and Android.
