Mid-week iOS releases: 300 Dwarves, Heroes of Order & Chaos, Meganoid 2, and more
Newbies
Welcome back to Pocket Gamer's round-up of the latest iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad mid-week releases.
As you all probably know by now, we produce this article each week because we're simply too busy to bring you a story on every single new game that hits the App Store.
These games have recently hit Apple's New Zealand outlet, meaning they should be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.
Universal 300 DwarvesBy Josh Presseisen - buy for iPhone and iPad
Your once-peaceful kingdom has been invaded by hordes of vicious green goblins, and it's your job as a dwarven commander to construct defences and stop their advances.
Your defences consist of five towers - all of which possess unique abilities. You also have three special powers that you can unleash on your foes, and a skill tree that features 32 upgrades.
All 12 of this game's levels have been drawn by hand. Not my hand, mind.

OREO: Twist, Lick, Dunk is a new casual title from Flick Kick Football and Monsters Ate My Condo developer PikPok. In it, you're tasked with, well, twisting, licking, and dunking sugary biscuit snacks.
Naturally, that's not as simple as it sounds. Why? Well, you have to twist and lick them as they fly through the air, for starters.
You then have to dunk them like an American-football player spiking a pigskin.
Littlest Pet ShopBy Gameloft - download free for iPhone and iPad
In Gameloft's latest free-to-play game, you have to help Blythe and her friends Minka, Penny, Pepper, Russell, Sunil, Vinnie, and Zoe adopt and take care of 150 different pets.
There are dogs to wash, cats to feed, bears to play with, and plenty of other critters to keep happy.

Your aim in Evofish is to become a skilled predator and make your way to the top of the food chain, and subsequently conquer the vast ocean that you inhabit.
There are two different game modes for you to play through: Classic and Time Attack. Both of them feature daily challenges from which you can earn shells.
You can spend these shells on various bonus items like potions and bombs.

This sequel, much like its predecessor, is a rock-hard platformer inspired by similar titles from the '80s and '90s.
You can complete each of Meganoid 2's levels in a few seconds, but you'll rarely manage to sprint through a stage unscathed. There are loads of spikes, enemies, and other hazards to slow you down, you see.
Still, you'll have to complete each level within a set time and grab a hidden treasure in order to nab a three-star rating.

Kaos, the antagonist from Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, is back, and he's brought an evil army of Warlord minions along for the ride. You need to protect Skylands.
You can bring two Skylanders to life inside the game at once using Activision's new Bluetooth-powered mobile portal and your collection of physical toys. Or you can just input some "secret codes".
Tropical StormfrontBy Christoph Aschwanden - buy for iPhone and iPad
Tropical Stormfront is a real-time strategy title that boasts 25 campaign missions, some lovely old skool graphics, and a couple of interesting multiplayer modes.
Basically, your aim is to take control of major islands and military structures using Humvees, tanks, helicopters, planes, and waves of artillery units.
You can either play against your buddies or team up with them and take down enemy forces together.

Yes, Desert Stormfront is also a real-time strategy game. And, yes, it's also by Christoph Aschwanden.
Much like in Tropical Stormfront, your mission in this game is to defeat enemies across 30 campaign missions. This time around, though, you're trying to take control of major cities and oil fields.
Again, you can battle with your buddies or team up with them. Depends on your mood, I guess.

According to Gameloft, Heroes of Order & Chaos is the App Store's very first Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA).
In this fantasy-filled adventure title, you choose a hero from 30 powerful warriors and wizards; team up with your friends; try to overpower your enemies; then wipe out their base.
Along the way, you can upgrade your skills and boost the stats of your equipment.

Your uncle, an elite member of an ancient secret society known as the Order of Seekers, has suddenly and mysteriously gone missing. Guess what - only you can track him down.
You have the unique ability to move through magic worlds, and it's this ability that'll help you complete around 100 quests (all of which involve hidden objects and puzzles).
G5 has promised that The Secret Society will be updated with additional quests and more.
