The App Stork: Introducing Hack the Planet, Battle of the Elements and Graviti...
|

This week, the App Stork has been mostly hacking planets, battling elements and messing with gravity in his search for the best new iPhone releases.

Casting his birdy eyes over the Pocket Gamer forums, his gaze mainly falls on the iPhone and iPod touch developer section.

Indeed, if you post your latest release in there, he's bound to pick it up.

Just remember - to heighten your chances of being selected by the Stork, throw in some screenshots and a video or trailer for him to watch. Moving pictures really get his heart racing.

On with this week's new iPhone gaming experiences...

Hack the Planet - Mobros Games

Hack the Planet is not a game about cracking top security systems and becoming the world's greatest computer hacker. Rather, it refers to the sport of hacking aka keeping a small ball in the air by kicking it repeatedly.

The App Stork's scrawnly legs mean his hacking skills aren't great, so he's happy that Hack the Planet allows him to fulfil his dream of being a hacking champion.

With 16 hacking skills to learn and a full combo system to master, Hack the Planet is the one (and only) iPhone hacking experience.

Battle of the Elements - Undercoders

Take your regular match-3 experience, throw in the Critter Crunch style of play, and out pops Battle of the Elements. The world is in eco-danger, so it's time to unleash the elements and save mankind.

Obviously this involves taking control of a half-dozen weird and wonderful critters as they attempt to string together combos of the same colour elements. Element blocks can be pulled down and thrown back up again to aid your progress.

Battle of the Elements is now available from the App Store for $2.99 / £1.79 / €2.39.

Graviti - Clockwork Shark Studios

Messing with gravity is always good fun, making for some good puzzlers. Graviti uses shifts in gravity as its main premise, as players attempt to move the little robot across the screen via the floor and ceiling.

With gameplay very similar to recent big indie hit VVVVVV, the idea is to tilt your iPhone until you hit an obstacle, then hit the gravity button to jump onto the ceiling, bypassing the hinderance. There's over 50 levels to play through with a variety of enemies and pits to traverse.

Graviti is now in the App Store for $1.99 / £1.19 / €1.59.
