Grand Cru's Supernauts will shut down at the end of the year
Naut so super
It was supposed to be a free to play juggernaut that would take over the App Store. But blocky base-builder Supernauts hasn't been a success for Grand Cru, and the game will close down at the end of the year.
Grand Cru said almost three million people played the game, but high server costs and low sales mean the game was costing more cash than it was making. It has been removed from the App Store, and servers will shut off before the year is out.
The developer says its proud of the game, saying "the quality and innovation of the community creations has absolutely stunned the development team over and over again".
Now, the team will work on new games with one to launch in 2016. You can try and get on the beta now, if you like.
