Match colours and fling fireballs in casual competitive title Super Spell Heroes

Flaregames and developer Sviper have announced a new game called Super Spell Heroes that will be coming to iOS and Android on August 20th.

Super Spell Heroes is a real-time 1v1 competitive matching game. You match 3 or more colours to cast spells that will damage your opponent until they fall to zero health. Watch the gameplay trailer below to get an idea of how it works.

It looks pretty intuitive and an easy way to pass the time. It's also nice to see more devs trying to do something new with the matching genre, which has felt pretty flat and samey for the past few years.

It's also not entirely luck-based - you can pick your spell loadout before going into battle so only those spells appear on the grid. You also won't get absolutely destroyed by an opponent with a bigger spell than you right out of the blocks - these are built up over time by using your smaller spells, so everyone has a chance.

Flaregames are responsible for publishing quite a few games, some of which we really enjoyed, such as Nonstop Knight. That said, it's impossible to say how this game will rank against its predecessors until it's released later this year.

You'll be able to cast spells and defeat enemies in Super Spell Heroes on iOS and Android when it is released worldwide on August 20th.
