iPhone game Super Ramen BROTHers cooked up inside 24 hours

Technical artist Alex Schwartz recently decided to test his hand at game design, and opted for a very unique approach in putting his first iPhone title together.

Together with friend Yilmaz Kiymaz the pair asked the gaming community to offer up bizarre, original notions for a game, which they would then make inside of 24 hours.

The winning pitch was for Super Ramen BROTHers, in which two packets of noodles attempt to rescue their stringy brethren from a supermarket checkout conveyor belt while dodging the other food stuffs heading toward the bar code reader.

The team astutely passed up pitches like, "What about some near-tentacle porn only to reveal the breasts belong to a Japanese businessman drunkeningly singing karaoke in the supermarket with ramen noodles on his head?", though the temptation must have been strong.

Anyway, the two developers managed to complete their self appointed sprint marathon with the help of the community, and the Super Ramen BROTHers game is now in review at Apple. Check it out:

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
