Starseed: Origin - Not original, but a lot of fun

| Starseed: Origin

Starseed: Origin is a retro bullet hell shooter with a cruel streak as wide as its massive spaceship bosses. It's chunky and chippy, and while it's not as manic as some other examples of the genre, it's still plenty crazy.

You control your little craft with one finger, swiping around the screen to dodge through balls of fire and waves of oncoming enemies. You shoot automatically, and you can grab weapon upgrades that beef up your blasting.

The difficulty here is pretty high, and it'll take you a good few attempts to start to get to grips with the beat of the gameplay. But it's worth it, especially if you're a fan of shooters.

If you're looking for a casual experience there's probably going to be too much here for you, but if you've got a penchant for old arcade machines then you're going to feel right at home.

Harry used to be really good at Snake on the Nokia 5110. Apparently though, digital snake wrangling isn't a proper job, so now he writes words about games instead.
