We reported on nifty-looking iPhone shooter StarSmasher last week, and said it looked explosive.

Well, now you get the chance to find out for yourself, as it's gone live on the App Store. What's more, it's got a bargain price, costing just £1.79.

The game is a space-based 3D shoot-'em-up, with you controlling a ship dodging asteroids, mines and enemy fighters. Naturally, you have lasers and shields to help you out, which can be upgraded as you go.

The game is controlled by tilting your iPhone forward, back, left and right to steer, while tapping the screen to fire. It's the work of Florida-based developer EspressoSoft.

Fancy a go? Click here to grab it from the App Store.
