Back in March, we received a cryptic message from a PR company that - once cracked - revealed that the classic video game Spy vs. Spy was making its way to the iPhone and iPad this summer.

No, don't worry: the cult trap-'em-up is still on track for a summer launch. It's just that we have some new details to share with you.

Based on the original Spy vs. Spy, which was developed in 1984 for the Apple II, this iOS version of the game will pack new HD visuals and the ability to choose between classic or modern-day graphics and sounds.

You'll be able to delve into a Campaign mode that features eight original embassies and 16 completely new ones, or just spend your time competing with your buddies in local and online Multiplayer modes.

Robots and Pencils, First Star Software, and Warner Bros. promise that Spy vs. Spy will boast "a plethora" of traps, weapons, and loot, as well as leaderboards and achievements through Apple's Game Center.

Expect Spy vs. Spy to hit the App Store sometime this summer.
