Space Tripper coming to the iPhone in 2009

When the rest of the gaming world was going 3D crazy back in 2001, PomPom Games made a bold move to put all this new fangled gaming hardware to more traditional use and created a superb scrolling shoot-'em-up in the shape of Space Tripper.

This isn't a developer that's been massively active lately (according to the official website the team has been on the moon growing carrots), but we did just hear word that Space Tripper is coming to the iPhone. The original game combined 2D and 3D visuals as you fought your way - Uridium-style - through 14 diverse worlds.

Details on what the iPhone version will contain are kind of thin on the ground right now, as it's not actually expected to hit the App Store until early next year, but we do have a gameplay video to entice you with. Stay Tuned.
