Sonic 2 reruns onto iPhone

While Sonic 4 has been rumoured but not yet confirmed for iPhone, Sega has revealed Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for iPhone and iPod touch.

The hedgehog's second outing is coming to your handset surprisingly soon: April 19. According to site Appolicious, the game will be available next Monday.

The port will feature the original game in its entirety, with all 11 zones for your high velocity platforming pleasure.

Unfortunately, multiplayer has reportedly been cut from the game. There's also no two-player race mode and Tails won't be playable in this version. We've contacted Sega for comment.

There's no official pricing for Sonic 2 yet, but given the original's £3.49/$5.99 price point, Sega is likely to release it at the same price.
