Updated on August 12th, at 11:30: At the halfway mark of this latest Gamer X competition, it looked as though Zariya Jackson's mammoth score of 5,588,920 would be enough to secure Zariya the victory.

Once the official adjudicators had formally closed the Sonic Dash tournament and had checked the final leaderboards, it became clear that that 5,588,920 tally wouldn't even be sufficient for a podium place.

In a word... wow!

With an incredible 13 million points, Brenda Cocom has absolutely decimated the opposition. It's a mind-blowing score! Simply astonishing stuff.

Here, then, is confirmation of the final placings.

  • Brenda Cocom - 13,348,700
  • Erik Choong - 11,279,040
  • Styphoiz - 9,150,220

Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to everyone else for playing.

A big 'hooray' for our "special prize" winner, by the way, who, as luck would have it, is fourth-placed finisher Zariya Jackson.

Gamer X will return soon. Very soon.

*By the way, could all of the winners please send an email to Gamer X's personal account with a screenshot of their Game Center ID as proof of entry by August 27th, 2013.

Updated on August 7th, at 9:16: The race is TRULY on.

At the halfway mark of our latest Gamer X competition, then, these are the top 3 Sonic Dashers.

  • Zariya Jackson - 5,588,920
  • David Cook - 4,457,100
  • Marcus Chow - 3,019,100

In the slipstream of that trio of incredible performers are Matt Pauley, Robert Hardy, and Jakub Kotis.

Are you struggling to keep up with this fierce competition, though? Need a Sonic speed boost?

Check this out, then.

As always in these Gamer X competitions, we have some awesome prizes to give away to the players responsible for the highest scores.

And those prizes are...

  • 1st prize - A Sonic Dash T-shirt (your choice of M, L, or XL), a Sonic The Hedgehog hat, and a Sonic Dash iPhone 5 cover.
  • 2nd prize - A Sonic The Hedgehog hat and a Sonic Dash iPhone 5 cover.
  • 3rd prize - A Sonic Dash iPhone 5 cover.
  • Special prize - As a special treat, we're also going to give away a Sonic The Hedgehog hat to one randomly selected competitor. You know, just for taking part. So, even if you can't crack the top three, it's worth submitting your score.
