We go hands-on with soft-launched sequel Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom [Update]
Updated on July 10th, at 16:15: A spokesperson for SEGA has got in touch to say that Sonic Dash 2 has not yet been optimised to run on older devices, which is why the game looks and runs a bit crap on our dodgy old Wikipad.

You should expect it to look a lot better when the game goes live properly. Whenever that is - the game has no firm release date.

Yes, yes, we know. SEGA literally just released a Sonic endless runner. But there's another one in the works, and this time it's based on Sonic Boom: the weird Sonic reboot where everyone is covered in bandages for some reason.

Sonic Runners was made by Sonic Team but the new Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom is made by Hardlight who made Sonic Jump and Sonic Dash. Do keep up.

The game hasn't been officially announced. It just popped up on the Australia and Canadian Google Play stores as a soft launch. So we grabbed our passport, flew to, I dunno, Ontario?, and had a go with the game.

As you can see above, it involves running, jumping, dashing, hitting enemies with hammers, switching characters mid-run, and generally complaining about how crap the Wikipad is.
