You can't really chase the sky, can you?

Well, that's what flying is essentially, and that's what Sky Chasers is all about - flying through a bunch of levels, avoiding enemies, and picking up lovely treasures.

How do you fly?

Get in a plane? Oh, you mean in Sky Chasers. Here you have two rockets attached to a cute craft. You tap the left or right of the screen to move in that direction. You can also tap both sides at once to fly up.

The system works perfectly, and gives you a lot more to think about than in, say, a platformer. Sky Chasers is pretty much one of those but in reverse.

How do you mean?

So, if you've ever played Rayman Jungle Run / Fiesta Run orĀ Rayman Adventures, you'll know exactly what to expect here - just in reverse.

You'll still explore a bunch of levels but, instead of jumping over things, you have to fly under or over them. You can't kill enemies but you do have to avoid them (which can be tricky), and there are coins to collect.

What do the coins do?

They let you buy new rockets so you can fly a little farther without running out of fuel. You can also unlock checkpoints to save your progress in a level.

Unlocking rockets is very compulsive, as they can come in a variety of different forms. Between them and the one-more-go nature of the levels, there's plenty of reason to play.

So you're saying it's good?

It's good, yes. The controls are as solid as the level design, the difficulty feels about right (it's not frustratingly difficult but you won't breeze through it either), and the visuals are lovely and pixelated.

The free to play elements are also surprisingly well-implemented. You can play without spending a penny, there are no pop-up ads, and you can turn off pretty much all free to play stuff with a one-off IAP.

Sky Chasers is a solid flying adventure which poses a good challenge and doesn't irritate with free to play nonsense
