App Army Assemble: Skullgirls - Worth dropping Injustice 2 for?

| Skullgirls Mobile

Skullgirls is a 2D fighter based on the popular franchise of the same name. You know the drill here, swipe and tap to attack opponents, unlock new fighters, and upgrade skills and stuff.

It's got some nice RPG progression though like levelling up, evolution, and unlocking new moves. You'll also pick a squad of three, ensuring they have good synergy, to beat them all.

If you're unsure whether or not to pick it up, check out what the App Army had to say.

Olivier Boesch

Skullgirls is graphically pleasant but it looks a lot like Injustice and other games.

The game is fairly well balanced though, and it's fun to play from time to time.

Stefano Pittarello

Technically, the game delivers. A branching story mode, extensive skill trees, tons of characters, awesome combos, animations, graphics, and music.

Not so sure about the setting and all the half naked girls but it's certainly original and well done. The controls took a bit of getting used to but after a bit I got used to them.

Quincy Jones

Not a bad fighting game. I found the controls a lot better than some of the more popular titles out there.

There's a nice story mode and it does a pretty good job of walking you through the basics of gameplay. There's a lot of humor here as well.

Fighting the computer can be a bit frustrating at times. My biggest issue is the fact that players can purchase upgrades and have a huge advantage over others.

What made Street Fighter a true classic was the fact that skill was always the deciding factor.

Diogo Marcelo

It's a very polished game, and reminds me of Street Fighter. The characters are very well designed and it's a bit different from others in the App Store.

The combat is lighting fast and you have to be on your toes to win. I really like the skill trees - they're almost identical to those in Final Fantasy X.

I think this can stand out and be a solid alternative to the other fighting games because of it's cartoonish looks and the skill that you need to have to progress.

D.T. Stroschein

This game is amazing. One thing the app stores lack are more fighting games. This separates itself with the sheer amount of content, characters, upgrades, and artwork.

The controls are very fluid. I think it's safe to say, it's an absolute keeper.
