SGN has announced that its iGolf game for iPhone and iPod Touch has been downloaded by more than half a million people in its first week on the App Store.

The game is free, which is clearly aiding its success. But its innovative use of the iPhone's accelerometer for taking your shots has also been winning plaudits.

To capitalise on the success, SGN has just announced that it's launching three new holes for the game, and introducing left-handed controls, and the ability to tweak the crowd applause and club 'thwack' sound effects.

The new features and holes will appear on an updated version of iGolf in the App Store by 1st October.

"The response to the launch of iGolf has been overwhelmingly positive," says SGN CEO Shervin Pishevar. "iGolf is proving to be the fastest growing and most innovative game in SGN's history."
