Jagex has finally released the iconic PC MMO RuneScape for mobile devices today. It’s now available as a free download on iOS and Android devices.

Over 1.8 million people have pre-registered RuneScape Mobile since its announcement back in April, and the game’s full release on mobile also brings cross-platform play and progression to the game. This means those who enjoy playing Runescape on PC can now swap over to mobile without losing any progress, and they can also play with friends who are split across different systems.

RuneScape for Mobile comes with every single quest, character, location and piece of lore that’s already in the PC version of the game, which has been added over the series’ 20-year long history.

Thanks to the massive amount of pre-registrations, RuneScape Mobile players have also unlocked five exclusive rewards including a new hairstyle, a sword, a pet, a teleport device and a top tier prize that includes the Crux Eqal armour and delivers a 50% XP boost across a seven-day period.

Meanwhile, anyone who’s new to the game can experience the RuneScape premium membership benefits through a free 7-day trial in case you were curious about what’s in it.

“After 20 incredible years as an iconic living game on PC, and with Old School alongside it, we have now brought two of the world’s most popular MMORPGs to the world’s most popular gaming devices,” says Jagex’s Phil Mansell. “The arrival of RuneScape on mobile is testament to our commitment to the continued growth of both titles as multi-platform living games.”

RuneScape for Mobile is available now as a free download on the iOS App Store and the Google Play for Android store. It also offers a premium membership for those who want to experience additional content, which you can read more about here.
