Romans In My Carpet! is Witching Hour Studios's upcoming miniature turn-based-strategy battler

Witching Hour's follow-up to Ravenmark: Mercenaries represents a bit of a departure for the studio.

The high-fantasy seriousness has been tossed aside in favour of zoomed-in critter battles that recreate historical scraps on the floor of a dirty dorm room.

Witching Hour's new one is called Romans In My Carpet!, and it features Romites and Breetles bashing one another's heads in in turn-based strategic battles played out against a backdrop of scattered d20s, dirty clothes, and lumps of food.

It's all presented in 16-bit polygons, so expect endearing jagged edges and sumptuous blocks of colour.

There are ten single-player levels for you to fight through here. And while the game might look simple, you should prepare for the same level of strategic depth that we've come to expect from Witching Hour's titles.

As well as the single-player mode, there's aysnchronous multiplayer. Here, you can scrap it out with your friends to prove that your dust mites are tougher than theirs.

We also know that Romans In My Carpet! will be a premium title, and that it'll require an internet connection at all times.

Romans In My Carpet! will go live on Google Play and the App Store in the spring. We'll let you know when we get a concrete release date for it.
