At what point does innovation become too wacky?

It's a question that springs to mind with Roll Out, the new game announced by publisher Bulkypix and developers Fishing Cactus and Artik Entertainment.

To some degree it seems to be a straightforward action platformer as you guide cute ball of fur Wabba through 50 levels.

Doing the don't?

The controls are very different however as you have to scroll through the preset options, which are superimposed in a layer on the level - both in terms of the actions themselves such as jump, stop, fast, and their position relative to the obstacles on the level - and so control what Wabba does.

Having watched the gameplay video a couple of times, it could either be the worst or the best thing ever (maybe).

We should know how it pans out on June 4, which is when Roll Out is due to be released.

Otherwise it's time to watch out that video again, or you can check out the website for more details.
