Roll'd is an endless runner with a twist, literally, as you control the track, instead of the runner.

Each level has been inspired by a different classic video game or system. That and the pixelated visuals will appeal to mobile gamers of a retro persuasion. Just look at them.

Gamers not stuck in the past will also find plenty that appeals. The lighting effects are reminiscent of Alto's Adventure and there are some impressive weather effects and a day and night cycle.

The real meat of the game lies in the leaderboards though, where you can compete with friends and strangers.

Oh, and there are three different control schemes to choose from, touch, swipe, or tilt.

Roll'd is due out on iOS in May. Check out the trailer above for a look at the game in action.
