It was noticed yesterday that a new in-game pop-up in the iOS version of Rock Band was calling time on the game, stating that from May 31st, users would not be able to play the game, let alone download it.

However, EA has now put out a statement, denying that this is the case, and saying that the pop-up was a mistake.

"Rock Band for iOS will remain live - the in-app message users received yesterday was sent in error," it said in a statement to Pocket Gamer.

"We apologize for the confusion this caused. We're working to clarify the issue that caused the error and will share additional information as soon as possible."

Whether this came in response to the Internet backlash it received over the move, or whether it was simply a genuine error, we may never know. But it's great news for Rock Band players all round.
