This weekend, the all-star indie team behind Ridiculous Fishing held an "Ask Me Anything" interview on Reddit.

During this AMA session, the team talked about free-to-play games, the fish that was so evil it was removed from the game, and about Android plans for the Gold Award-winning time sink.

"We're still arguing about an Android release. There are a lot of things to consider and a lot of things that we just don't know too much about," Vlambeer duo Rami Ismail and Jan Willem Nijman said.

"As soon as we figure all that stuff out, we'll see what we can do."

On the subject of the existing iOS version, though, Vlambeer stated that there might be some more content coming in the future.

"We're definitely thinking about adding more content, but it might be a while before we make it as good as we want it to be."

Talking about the money, money, money

The team was asked if the mobile market undervalues games. The duo said that "it's just the way the market works at the moment", and explained that "developers shouldn't be scared to charge $3 for a game".

And while Vlambeer acknowledges the prevalence of free-to-play, "since its almost impossible to do F2P in a non-evil way and without sacrificing the elegance of your game design, we'll prefer to charge $3."

One eagle-eyed Reddit user dug through the game's code and found that Vlambeer had removed a fish called Hook Jelly.

The infamous Hook Jelly, described in the game's code as "fuck that mean jelly monster"

The developer explained that the "jelly kicked fish off your lure when you picked him up. Initially it seemed like a cool idea, but it was too hard to explain what was actually happening to the player."

So, what's next for Vlambeer? Not much on mobile, sadly. Super Crate Box probably won't be ported to Android, and sepia-toned dogfight game Luftrausers won't be released on iOS.

"The controls simply are even tougher than Super Crate Box to implement."
