Resident Evil 4 hits the iPhone

Follow Leon's laser pointer back to Raccoon City

Resident Evil 4 hits the iPhone

Capcom does its best to keep new iPhone releases as quiet as possible, but we managed to pick up on news that the finest addition to its prolific zombie-based franchise, Resident Evil 4, was coming to the iPhone. Over the weekend, it appears to have clawed its way out of the App Store earth.

The game takes place six years after the destruction of Raccoon City, and rookie cop Leon Kennedy is now a top US agent charged with a mission to rescue the president's daughter. To do this he must infiltrate a strange and terrifying European village populated by mutated, murderous farmers, chainsaw-wielding psychopaths and all manner of unimaginable monsters.

This iPhone iteration of Resident Evil 4 is apparently built on the Resident Evil: Degeneration framework, which isn't an unwelcome bit of news.

We'll have a gameplay video ready for you shortly, and in the meantime you can train your laser sight on the 'Buy It!' button to head on over to the App Store and check out Resident Evil 4 for yourself.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
