Resident Evil 4 jumps from the iPhone shadows
Then gets its head quickly blown off
Japanese iPhone website AppBank is impressively quick on the trigger. Recently, an iPhone adaptation of the spectacular Resident Evil 4 (easily the best game in the franchise, this zombie-addled writer dares to suggest) appeared on the Japanese App Store, only to be pulled almost immediately.
It seems someone at Capcom flicked the switch a little early, but not before screenshots and a video were snagged by AppBank.
The game appears to be built on a similar framework to the recent Resident Evil: Degeneration, and follows the adventures of series stalwart Leon Kennedy as he braves the zombie-ridden backwaters of Eastern Europe.
Maybe it's a bit of a shame for Capcom that it's big secret has been blown, but it's damnably exciting news that Resident Evil 4 is coming to the iPhone nonetheless.
From the looks of the screenshots and video (below), Cappy has done a great job of recreating the murky, dystopian horror farmland of the immensely popular PS2 game, so we'll be waiting for this one with slavering, flesh-hungry jaws.
