The Elder Scrolls of the iPhone almost ready for submission

Ravensword: The Fallen King video revealed for iPhone

There’s been a lot of speculation about the Elder Scrolls coming to the iPhone in one form or another, ever since Bethesda and id Software were melded together in the forge of corporate expansion, but, as is so often the case, while the original developer is still tying its shoes an indie has run the course of the marathon.

In this case it’s a collaboration between Human Powered Games and Crescent Moon Games, called Ravensword: The Fallen King. The game promises and epic action RPG set in a massive sandbox world packed with orcs, goblins, skelingtons, ogres and an impressive 50 more fantastical characters.

The main quest will offer between three and six hours of gameplay as you work toward fulfilling a mysterious prophecy, though a plethora of side-quests are also included which will undoubtedly double the playing time. Although Ravensword makes particular use of a third-person viewpoint (as is customary in such epic RPGs) you can also switch to first-person during battles for a bit of additional accuracy.

According to designer Josh Presseisen, Ravensword: The Fallen King should be submitted to Apple toward the end of September with an expansion pack available shortly thereafter, and in the meantime he’s released this cinematic and gameplay trailer to whet your appetite (and your blade). This is going to be a big one.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
