Like Armageddon but more match-4

HandyGames brings Puzzlegeddon to App Store

Ah, the match-4 puzzler. What could be more colourful and fun?

The only problem is there are literally dozens of examples on the App Store, which means developers really have to work hard to stand out from the crowd.

HandyGames and Pieces Interactive have already honed their take on the genre - Puzzlegeddon - with PC and mobile versions, so now it's time for it to take a bow onto the App Store.

It enables you to choose one of eight characters and then make your way through themed planets by sliding rows and columns of coloured blocks around to make matches and hence big combos.

You gain access to 12 power-ups which you'll need to use to boost your score, especially when you're playing against up to three artificial intelligent-controlled opponents.

There are online leaderboards for the different modes and challenges too.

Puzzlegeddon is out now, priced $3.99, €2.99 or £2.39. Hit the Buy it! button to go direct to the App Store.

There's also a free version [App Store link], which has less characters, power-ups and modes.
