Push Panic is clever for its combination of physics and match-3 mechanics, creating a fresh and fun experience.

We said as much when giving it a Silver Award when it arrived on iPhone back in 2010.

Now, four years later, it's finally appeared on Google Play for all you patient Android players.

Like most match-3 puzzlers, Push Panic has you matching blocks of the same colour, which causes them to pop upon doing so. The higher the number of blocks you chain together the more it will add to your score.

The catch is that if you don't keep up a steady rate of popping these blocks, they'll spill out the sides of the screen, ending your game.

That's the core idea, but it's remixed in new ways across the game's four different modes. One tests your observation skills while another has you racing against time, for example.

In our review of the iOS version, we said: "Straightforward colour-matching mechanics, challenging modes, and excellent replay value make Push Panic highly recommended".

You can download Push Panic on Google Play [download] right now for free. It's also available on the App Store [download] for free.
