The creators of Geared and Minigore reveal 'Project X' for the iPhone

Gears of Gore?

Product: Project X | Developer: Mountain Sheep

Project X iPhone, thumbnail 1
The Pocket Gamer spies have spotted this intriguing screen posted on the Touch Arcade forums suggesting that the creators of Geared and Minigore are working together on something new: the mysteriously titled Project X.

Although at the moment we don't know the game's title, previous uses of the name Project X include a 1987 film about the ethical implications of animal testing and a side-scrolling shooter for the Amiga developed and published by Team17.

If we’re talking about gameplay or genre then our guess is as good as yours, but it’s still pretty fun to speculate.

Our editor's guess, “A side-scrolling shooter in which the spaceship is piloted by a smoking chimpanzee.”

More news on this secretive title as it arrives. In the meantime, if you think you can come up with a better game idea for Project X, let us know with your comments below.

It would be nice if they would finish the promised updates to MiniGore before embarking on something else...

I really hope they are talking about the fastastic Project-X by Team17!! That was my favourite game on the Amiga & it would look great on iPhone! I already have the theme music on my iPod, it rocks! Check out the gameplay videos on YouTube.
