Predynastic Egypt combines historical civilization management with turn-based strategy
Much more than pyramids
Forget the world wars, railroads, industrial eras, and other common 4X/management eras. Predynastic Egypt, as its name suggests, goes back farther than all of them. Set in an Egyptian society based on historical documents, this iOS strategy game lets you guide the dawn of civilization
From 5,000 BCE onward, you cultivate technological advancements to grow small villages to a sprawling empire, managing resources and dealing with grand calamities ranging from war and disease to drought and hostile borders. Various events let you decide the fate of your society, leading them through the centuries.
One of the more interesting aspects of Predynastic Egypt, based its setting, is the developer's commitment to accuracy, using geographic maps and archaeological data of the era to create a realistic portrayal of ancient Egypt, the events that might arise, and its progression as you expand.
Predynastic Egypt is expected to release on iPad and iPhone this year; in the meantime, you can also find the game on Steam.
