Niantic has unleashed Pokemon from the Sinnoh into the wild in Pokemon GO, giving you your first chance to catch Pokemon from Pokemon Pearl, Pokemon Diamond, and Pokemon Platinum.

There’s a new trailer commemorating the event, showcasing Glaceon, Leafeon, Lucario, and many others. We even get a quick glimpse of Legendary Pokemon Giratina, who could be coming to the game in a Raid or Research Task.

Niantic will be rolling out the new Pokemon in waves, but you can catch the first few right now. You’ll find them in the wild, in eggs, and through raids, so keep an eye out. According to The Silph Road subreddit, these are the Sinnoh Pokemon you can catch in the wild currently:
  • Turtwig
  • Grotle (You can evolve Grotle into Torterra)
  • Chimchar
  • Monferno (Evolve Monferno into Infernape)
  • Piplup
  • Prinplup (Evolve Prinplup into Empoleon)
  • Starly
  • Staravia
  • Staraptor
  • Bidoof
  • Bibarel
  • Cricketot
  • Kricketune
  • Buneary
  • Lopunny

And you’ll hatch Riolu (which you can evolve into Lucario) from eggs.

The Silph Road also seems to have confirmed some region-exclusive Generation IV Pokemon. People are reporting sightings of Chatot exclusively from the southern hemisphere so far. Pachirisu seems to be appearing in Arctic Regions (there have been sightings in Saskatchewan, Edmonton, British Columbia, and Labrador). Lastly, Carnivine has been showing up only in the Southeastern United States and the Bahamas. This is all based on player reports so far.

Niantic is promising more Generation IV surprises coming soon, so stay tuned for more news on that front.
