Catch more Water/Ice-type pokemon and more as Pokemon GO launches its annual winter event

We've had three brilliant pieces of Pokemon GO news this month. One saw the next generation of Pokemon arrive, one saw the new AR+ mode on the way, and now we've got the annual festive holiday event.

As of right now, Pokemon GO will be featuring festive Pikachu and an increase of ice-type Pokemon around the world. Creatures from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, namely the Water and Ice-type Pokemon, will begin popping up for the very first time.

If you take an amble to visit PokeStops between now and December 25th, the first one you visit per day will gift you a single-use Egg Incubator with your Photo Disc spin. Special boxes will also be available to purchase during this period, offering up items like Super Incubators, Lure Modules, Star Pieces, and more.
