We now know that story events will see you going on an adventure with a featured trainer. Along the way, you’ll be able to partner up with sync pairs that you haven’t yet met in the main campaign, so it’s a nice way to get a little preview of what’s to come.

The first story event, ‘Reach for the Top’, sees you working alongside Blue, one of Kanto region’s most prominent trainers. Together, you’ll meet and do battle with other well-known trainers from the region, earning special rewards as you go. It’s also been confirmed that events will return at a later date, meaning you don’t have to worry about missing out on anything.

Blue and Pidgeot use the powerful ‘Air Cutter’ move to attack all opponents. When Blue uses his sync move, Pidgeot will transform into Mega Pidgeot. This allows the pair to utilise even more devastating moves.

On top that, there’ll also be a launch celebration running from August 28th to October 16th. You can expect plenty of log-in bonuses and special missions to work your way through. Taking part will get you a helpful handful of gems and mission items. Gems can be used to scout for new sync pairs, so it’s definitely worth getting them when they’re freely available.

Pokemon Masters is currently available for pre-registration, with a full launch on the App Store and Google Play scheduled for this Thursday, August 29th.
