NimbleBit, the developer behind excellent iOS titles Pocket Frogs and Tiny Tower, is currently hard at work on its next iPhone and iPad title: Pocket Planes.

Your aim in this forthcoming free-to-play title, which is still very much a work in progress, is to ferry passengers and cargo to and from a variety of different airports around the world.

You also have to manage and expand your airline by buying new planes with a yet-to-be-named premium currency. This currency will be available through in-app purchases, as well as through in-game goals and promotions.

Time to board

If you wish to build a profitable airline, you'll have to think ahead and always have a strategy.

Journeys between airports, naturally, cost money to complete, so you'll constantly have to determine whether a certain route or cargo is worth your time and effort.

Pocket Planes, which boasts the same graphical style as the aforementioned Tiny Tower, should land in the App Store this summer.
