iOS + Android + 3DS ...

Yesterday, we asked you all to put forward your favourite game(s) that was released on iOS, Android, Vita, or 3DS in 2014.

So let's take a look at what you said, shall we?

iOS / Android Wayward Souls

It seems that you agree with our Platinum Award for action-RPG Wayward Souls as it was voted for the most among smartphone games out of the responses we got.

Of Wayward Souls, commenter @xxxAcesHighxxx says: "With their sublime, wonderfully nuanced dungeon crawler, RocketCat have somehow, against all the odds, created the greatest mobile game ever made. Fact."

Other iOS and Android games that got votes include The Room 2, Duet, 80 Days, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, World of Tanks: Blitz, Monument Valley, Hearthstone, and North Wind: Trill of Consciousness.

We especially enjoyed commenter IvanKolev on their experience with The Room 2: "The experience of playing this game is really fascinating. The scene when the mechanism is unlocked is very cool. I enjoyed every single chapter of the game."

And it seems that commenter Christian Valentin had a tough decision to make when picking out 80 Days: "It was a close call between that and Monument Valley, but inkle's wonderful prose and wonderfully-realized world to traverse put 80 Days on top for me."

PlayStation Vita Rogue Legacy

Storming the votes for best game released on the Vita in 2014 is ancestral action platformer Rogue Legacy, which we gave a Silver Award to.

Commenter @sickpuppysoftwa sums up most of our experiences with the game when saying, "I spent far too long playing Rogue Legacy."

And @xxxAcesHighxxx chimes in once again to add some numbers to that exhaustive playing length: "As of right now, I've spent more than seventy hours roaming the castle grounds of this savagely addictive roguelike platformer. And you know what? I wouldn't bet against playing another seventy either!"

Other Vita games that got votes include Velocity 2X, Resogun, Freedom Wars, BlazBlue: Chronophantasma, and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax (import).

Nintendo 3DS Fantasy Life

It was the strange but cute life simulator / RPG Fantasy Life that came up the most times in votes for 3DS games. Good job we gave it a Silver Award then.

Commenter Fritz Frapp tells us all what the game's appeal is: "Joyful, engaging, hugely addictive and replayable, excellent multiplayer, and THE best soundtrack of the year by a mile. Comfortably my All Format Game of the Year 2014."

Also voted for as best 3DS game of 2014 by you all was Shovel Knight, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, and Azure Striker Gunvolt.

Once again, @xxxAcesHighxxx is right in there to sum up what makes Shovel Knight so great: "With gorgeous pixel art, stunning level design, and seat of your pants, infuriating difficulty, Shovel Knight is delightfully old skool. And bloody brilliant."

So there you have it. Are there any games that didn't get a mention that you feel should have? Let us know in the comments.
