PG's top 5 moments of the week - Seabeard, Hearthstone, Hitman GO...

Every week, Pocket Gamer provides a weekly digest of the most important and popular stories from these digital pages.

It's Easter weekend, so all of the Pocket Gamer team members this side of the Atlantic are taking a couple days off to eat chocolate and chase bunnies and do something else I can't remember.

To tide you over, here's some stuff we already did in the past. Pretend it's all new and read it again

We also took a look at the bizarre Chinese import of Where's My XYY?, and picked out the best iOS and Android games of the week.

We were baffled, and impressed, by Hitman GO Hitman GO

New iOS game Hitman GO is quite the oddball. Part stealth game, part puzzler, this turn-based sneak 'em up sees Agent 47 and his targets turned into resin models on elaborate tabletop dioramas.

We liked it a lot, calling it a "clever and refreshingly original puzzle game that's satisfying to win" in our Silver Award review.

If you find yourself getting stuck - and you've run out of free hints - check out our guide for video walkthroughs to every level in the first chapter. More soon, if you lot show an interest.

We reported on events from the exotic, faraway land of "Boston"

The latest Penny Arcade Expo opened its doors in Boston last weekend, and was a success on at least two counts.

One: the show managed to run its course without co-creator Mike Krahulik stuffing his foot in his mouth and saying something patently offensive and making great swathes of the population feel uncomfortable.

And two: our pals at 148Apps got a chance to see some interesting upcoming mobile games and told us all about them.

That includes pacifistic space shmup Particle Mace, ghost-busting point and click The Phantom P.I. Mission Apparition, and magical strategy game A Druid's Duel.

We saw Seabeard and said "awwww!" Seabeard

Back in 2009, Rolando maker HandCircus cut ties with ngmoco and left the world of mobile for half a decade - and it was all because of that nefarious pantomime villain, free-to-play.

Now the studio is back. And, with delicious irony, it's making a free-to-play game. We chatted to HandCircus head Simon Oliver about his change of heart, and about his new game: Seabeard.

This adorable swashbuckling Animal Crossing-alike mixes high seas adventuring with ruthless trading, and lets you recruit crew members, explore tombs, bake cakes, catch fish, and a million other things. It should be good.

We totally didn't play DS games on our iPhone. Honest, Mr Nintendo

Fancy playing some Nintendo DS games on your iPhone or iPad? A new emulator lets you do just that, and you don't even need to jailbreak your iOS gizmo.

We posted a complete guide to getting it on your device. Your mileage will really vary on this one: older devices and more technically impressive games will be rubbish, but 2D games on new phones will work lubbly jubbly.

Hearthstone is out so we wrote about Magic: The Gathering Hearthstone

Hearthstone is out. Everywhere. Read our review, or just go grab the game.

If that doesn't float your boat, how about an entirely different deck-building card game? Peter went to see Wizards of the Coast and have a gander at Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers.

"With a neat and smartly laid out UI, oodles of cards, and plenty of help for beginners, this is shaping up to be the deepest, fastest, and most accessible Magic release yet," says Peter.

Around Steel Media

This week, the 148Apps Editor's Choice Awards went to Unpossible and Hitman GO, and Jeff Scott reviewed…and loved…the new Livescribe 3 Smartpen. All that, and oh, so much more, in This Week at 148Apps
