Pako Caravan is one of the more highly regarded free games out there. It's featured on our "Top 25 Free Games to Play" list (at the time of writing) and was a 2021 PG Awards nominee. It's a game that blends cars with one of the oldest and most historic mobile games of all time, Snake

Your goal is to get as many cars as you can to trail behind you. You want to create a nice, big snake of vehicles behind you to rack up your score. It's a fresh take on the classic Nokia game, featuring fun, wholesome graphic design, and fine colours.

Although the concept of the game seems simple, it can be a challenging one as well. But that's the beauty of the game. It simple but also not so simple it loses all difficulty. It has a nice blend of the two. So, here are a few tips to keep in mind when firing up this little freebie.

Steer With Confidence

Pako Caravan tips

Controlling your car(s) is the name of the game in Pako Caravan. You're trying to steer your way to getting as big of a car train going as you can in each level. You'll have plenty of obstacles including light posts, signs, and parked cars in your way. You can even fall off the map if you aren't careful.

You'll need to navigate your way around everything. You'll actually start to get the hang of it after a while, but it'll still be a bit of a challenge. The best thing to note is the sensitivity level of the steering via the touch screen on your mobile device.

The movements are slower, even when you swipe hard with your fingers. Instead of swiping, try holding down on the left or right side and steer accordingly. Take your finger off when you want to go straight, of course. Soon, you'll get pretty comfortable with the turns, which will allow you to react at the best times.

Time Your Jumps

In the second level you unlock in Pako Caravan, you will be able to jump. Yup, jumping car action. You'll notice right away that this area will make your car move faster. It'll be much quicker than on the first level, so be prepared as you kick things off.

The beauty of this location is that, with the jumping feature, you can avoid the many obstacles it presents so make sure to take advantage of that. However, you want to make sure you time things right with your bounces. You don't want to hit something on the way down.

If you're approaching an obstacle, try to get close enough before making the move. Get comfortable with this and you'll master this level. If you feel that you don't need to jump, then just do your best to steer clear of trouble (see what I did there?).

Practice on Different Levels

As you unlock levels in Pako Caravan, feel free to bounce around between each one. This will give you different changes of pace and let you work on your game. And then, when you're ready, you can try and go for your high scores on each of those and unlock some new stages.

There are a couple of bonus levels that are already unlocked if you want to check those out. These are holiday-based, including having one that has a Halloween setting. So even if you haven't unlocked a level yet, you can experience some extra scenery.

But you'll start to get used to the pacing of different places as well as the obstacles they present. This could help you get those high scores. Another option is that you can simply use the first two levels as your own practice facilities. This could prepare you for more difficult locations.
