Pac-Man gets new mazes, a new multiplayer mode, and an old look for its 35th birthday
Golden oldie
Pac-Man is getting old. By now, the golden yellow from his once youthful round face should be starting to fade as senility begins to creep in.
Pac-Man, the original arcade game, was released in Japan on May 22nd, 1980. Yes, that means Pac-Man is 35-years-old tomorrow.
Developer Bandai Namco is celebrating with an update to Pac-Man and Pac-Man Lite on iOS.
It brings with it a new multiplayer mode as well as new mazes and challenges. There are also pro tips and hints available in the game now.
But what Bandai Namco seems most chuffed with is the new "classic-inspired" interface. It's supposed to bring back those memories of playing the original Pac-Man, if you have them.
Either way, you can pick up the newly updated Pac-Man for £4.99 / $6.99 on the App Store. Alternatively, you can pick up Pac-Man Lite for free on the App Store.
