PUBG Mobile just received a huge update today introducing a new map and a whole slew of other features. The new map, Miramar, is a sandy desert that adds all sorts of new challenges. You’ll no longer have groves of trees and other natural flora to hide behind. Instead, you’ll be worrying about who’s waiting beyond the crest of the next sand dune, waiting to take out any oblivious survivors. These changes make for good fun, and the addition of new weapons and vehicles makes it all the more alluring.

The update brings more community features and events. The new Progress Missions give you the chance to collect progress rewards when you hit new levels, plus you’ll get rewards for every new tier you reach during Season 2. The new local quick team feature makes it easier for you to team up with your nearby friends using a 6-digit code.

The update adds some welcome improvements, too. The developers have added sound effects for melee combat and for breaking doors, which help with immersion. You’ll find that spectator mode is a lot smoother now, as is the parachute camera. Overall, things are just going to work a whole lot better. You can find all of the gritty details on PUBG Mobile’s App Store listing. If you had strayed away from PUBG Mobile in the past few weeks, now might be the perfect time to jump back in.

Are you still playing PUBG Mobile, or are Fortnite’s colourful shores too tempting?
