'Veggienauts'. There's a name sure to send a shiver down your spine. What could possibly stand in the way of this crack team of organic badasses?

Well, that's an operational question that fans of Outwitters are now going to have to wrestle with.

You see, One Man Left has just updated its hex-grid strategic battler with this new Veggienauts team (pictured below) and some new maps. The dev has also made a number of important gameplay tweaks and under-the-bonnet improvements.

This new Veggienauts team looks excellent (especially that Cyclops sniper-cactus), while its special unit, the barrier-spawning Bramble, is already causing a tactical stir on the game's forums.

The Veggienauts team is available as an in-app purchase, though it's free for those who have already bought the Über pack.

One Man Left has also made a few important changes to its currency system.

Player Two now starts with more Wits (the in-game currency) to offset the fact it has to go second. You now get a bonus Wit for each enemy you kill, too. This should encourage more aggressive tactics.

Furthermore, "Spawn menus have become much prettier." Gameplay? Bah - this is what we like to see.

You can download Outwitters for free right this second on iPhone and iPad as a Universal app.
