Out at midnight: Oscura Second Shadow fixes its predecessor's woeful controls
With PG First Play video
I didn't play the first Oscura. But I read Harry's review which described it as a cracking platformer, only let down by clunky, gesture-driven controls.
You'll be pleased to hear, then, that incoming sequel Oscura Second Shadow ditches those dodgy controls and replaces them with study, reliable virtual buttons.
Otherwise, this is a similar game: an impish creature wanders through levels, collecting cogs and shards of something or other, hopping over monsters, and finding the exit.
It's also got that stunning Badland-style art, which is a bit like Limbo but with bold, vibrant colours in the backdrop. It looks nice.
Oscura Second Shadow is out on iPhone and iPad at midnight tonight, where it will cost £1.99 / $2.99. While you're waiting, check out our PG First Play video, above.
