Orange iPhone pre-orders go live, crash website

Clamour for Orange iPhone overwhelming, apparently

With only a week to go before launch, Orange has begun accepting orders for the iPhone, and apparently the demand has been high enough to shut down the mobile giant's website.

According to reports, over a quarter of a million people registered their interest in an Orange iPhone. Once registered, users were sent a unique code that today allows them to preview and reserve an iPhone, and evidently a lot of those people are inclined to do so.

Although Orange has decided not to start a price war over contracts, its range of tariffs and Pay As You Go options have undeniably upped the game with O2.

The Apple device is being supplied by Orange immediately after O2's exclusivity licence runs out on November 10th, and is expected to be closely followed by Vodafone.

Although the site is on and off at the moment (more off than on) if you're looking to reserve yourself an Orange iPhone, head on over to the official website to beat your fists on the door.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
