Bring Cut the Rope icon into the third dimension with Om Nom: Candy Flick

ZeptoLab is bringing beloved Cut the Rope icon Om Nom out of the screen and into your living room via its new augmented reality app, Om Nom: Candy Flick.

Rather than produce another batch of string-slashing physics puzzles, the Russian developer has decided to embrace AR technology to create a different sort of monster-feeding sim.

To get Om Nom to appear, you'll need to either print out a tailored AR card or display the image on a secondary iPad or iPhone.

Once you've done that, fire up the app, aim your camera at the card, and Om Nom will materialise in all his green 3D glory.

As for the game itself, it's a simple case of swiping upwards to flick candy into our loveable hero's gaping maw, thus sating his appetite and earning you points.

If you want to up your score modifier, you have to increase the distance between you and your ravenous target.

Provided you can keep the AR card in your viewfinder at all times, Om Nom: Candy Flick's super-simple concept works surprisingly well.

Plus, you get to see what Om Nom would look like sitting on your coffee table. And, well, you can't put a price on that (you actually can't - the app's free to download).

You can grab Om Nom: Candy Flick for iPhone and iPad now for nowt. No word yet on an Android version, but we live in hope.
