Neverputt ME chipped onto the App Store green
Crazy golf game now available for the iPhone
The history of Neverputt ME is quite involved, as it stems from a community based around an entirely different freeware game. Neverball is a physics-based game inspired by Super Monkey Ball, but was later adapted into Neverputt; a miniature/crazy golf game using the physics and graphics engines of Neverball.
The burgeoning community behind the game has ensured there's never any shortage of user generated courses to play on, and Neverputt ME has now been converted and released for the iPhone.
Featuring over 100 holes, seven courses and local multiplayer for up to four, the game apparently adopts the same impressive ball mechanics that made the PC-based original such a cult success. Now Apple's relaxed its NDA agreement, the game's developer confirmed to Touch Arcade that Neverputt ME's source code will soon be made available for users to once again start building their own content.
Neverball is also in the works, but is currently only available as a jailbreak application. Hit the 'Track It!' now button for more news as it happens.
