Conquer the galaxy and betray your friends in browser-based RTS Neptune's Pride II: Triton

Iron Helmet Games has just released the sequel to its browser-based space strategy sim Neptune's Pride.

While such an announcement wouldn't normally warrant a post on Pocket Gamer's mobile-centric pages, Neptune's Pride II: Triton has been built in HTML5, making it playable on smartphone and tablet browsers.

Your objective in Neptune's Pride II: Triton is extremely simple: you must attempt to conquer more than 50 percent of the stars in your galaxy.

Galaxy quest

Neptune's Pride II : Triton supports up to eight players, and plays out in real time. To win, you must move ships between stars, creating alliances with other players and defeating enemy fleets as you go.

Once you reach the celestial body in question, you begin building some infrastructure around the star by investing in industry, economy, and science.

What made the original Neptune's Pride so interesting is the fact that games can take weeks to finish.

You see, sending ships between planets takes hours rather than minutes, making it the perfect game to dip in and out of during your working day.

It also has a reputation for turning firm friends into bitter enemies, on account of its alliance-based gameplay. Would you stab your buddy in the back to complete your star system? It may be time to find out.

You can sign up for Neptune's Pride II using your Google+ account by visiting the game's home page.
