Last Friday, French developer Bulkypix released the iPhone adaptation of the web game phenomenon, My Brute. The web game lands itself 1.7 million hits per day (literally and statistically) and it seems many of those players also own an iPhone or iPod touch.

Apparently My Brute on the iPhone has seen a whopping 260,000 fights, prompting Bulkypix to launch an online ranking system to determine whose kung fu is best.

"We are really excited to see that My Brute is a huge success with more than 260 000 fights done past 3 days," explains Bulkypix CEO Vincent Dondaine. "Reviews on different App Stores are looking great. For example, in France we have more than 600 ratings with an average of 5 stars."

My Brute allows you to create your own dojo customise your fighters (iPhone-ka?) and then pit them against other players in an RPG-style combat arena. The more students your dojo gains, the more goodies and techniques your fighters learn.

The ranking system shows both the top 25 individual Brutes, and the 25 hottest performing dojos across the world. The next My Brute update will make the leaderboards available within the game, so you can watch your chi rise as you fight.

"It’s amazing to see how fast people have started to talk about the game across the internet, as they try to find new pupils," says Dondaine. "The community has started to thrive on the iPhone, and we'll be bringing regular new content to make everyone happy.”

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
