MadFinger's decidedly zombie-free model building kit Monzo has been updated on iOS and Android with some new settings, a new kit, and - on Android - a nifty virtual reality mode.

You can now build the Russian MIR space station, if you've got £5.99 / $7.99 in your pocket. And Airfix veterans can play in 'Expert Mode' which removes the step-by-step instructions, and rewards you with special colours and stickers.

And - best of all - if you're on Android you can use Google's lo-fi virtual reality headset Google Cardboard to see your models in all their 3D glory. Sadly, while the iPhone (5) can fit quite snugly in the Cardboard, this feature won't work on iOS.

Monzo, if you haven't played it, is a virtual recreation of those old model kits.

We liked the game, but had qualms about its costs. "I bought a model of a T-Rex for £4 and built it in six minutes - it's just not worth it," said Alysia. "Even if you do have the creative freedom to paint it neon yellow".
