Monster Hunter Now: Everything you need to know about Paintballs

Monster Hunter Now is a new, monster fighting game where you need to travel around your local area, finding monsters to fight. Each day, you have time-sensitive quests, often for specific monsters that you need to beat. Your current chapter quest is also based on specific monsters you need to find. Different monsters spawn in various biomes, so unless you are spending a lot of time keeping your eyes on your phone, you'll find that paintballs are a good way to gain more monsters to fight!

What are Paintballs in Monster Hunter Now

Palico paintball

Paintballs are in-game items, that come in two varieties; Palico Paintball and Paintball. They are both used to "mark" a monster, saving them for later use. These monsters then appear in a special menu, with an expiration date, allowing you to battle them when you have a spare moment when it's more convenient for you or when you need that specific monster.

The Palico Paintball is an item that your little Palico uses to mark random big monsters for you. This is done when the game is closed, as a way of Palico saving a monster they think you will like. There isn't a way to choose which monster is marked or when. Instead, you just need to wait for Palico to make the decision for you. These refresh each day and are limited to three.

Painyball list Paintballs can be purchased from the shop and allow you to manually select a monster and save them for later. These marked monsters are then saved in their specific menu, showing you where they came from. You can have up to eight total marked monsters at any given time, and they expire when their time is up.

Beyond saving a monster for a more convenient time or having Palico grab a monster when you are busy for when you are back home, marking monsters also allows you to battle them with your friends! As I have been playing Monster Hunter Now with my family, I find that all of us select monsters during the day we are excited about, and then battling them together in the evening is a very fun experience. It's easy to share all of our marked monsters, battling together through parties or the QR code. It has also helped lower-level hunters take on larger monsters needed for their quests.

Now that you have learned everything there is about paintballs in MH Now, go out and use them!
