BonusXP to smash up the App Store with Monster Crew
Card-collecting, Frankenstein-touting, endless stomper
Set up by veterans of Zynga, Robot Entertainment, and id Software, it's clear BonusXP has pretty good pedigree when it comes to making games.
We'll get to see how good soon, as the Texas-based mobile studio has just announced its first title.
Called Monster Crew, the endless runner - which also has a card collection aspect - is heading for the App Store just in time for Halloween.
Monster mash
The scenario is that you play as a kid who's been turned into Frankenstein's monster, and get to smash your way through a haunted castle.
Your overall goal is to smash everything in sight, collecting cards as you complete levels
This feeds into the games's RPG elements as the cards open up a skill tree that provide you with monster upgrades. BonusXP says this element will provide plenty of flexibility as you can re-spec your skill tree at any stage of the game, which will take around 15 hours if you want to complete the entire storyline.
Free-to-play, Monster Crew will include 25 bonus cards and 36 upgrades.
It will be released for iOS "soon".
