Sometimes, the mind boggles.

Crossing the line from homage into flagrant rip-off, the kart racer featured in the video below bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain well-known Nintendo property.

Reports suggest (and the trailer supports the notion) that Chinese developer Taomee has essentially reskinned Mario Kart Wii, kept the track layouts, and is planning to release it onto the App Store as Mo Er Kart.

There is very little other information on the game at present, but if Mo Er Kart has made it past the App Store submission process - and the branding on the trailer means it's possible - it is surely just a matter of time before Nintendo's lawyers come knocking on Taomee's door.
