Without any warning whatsoever, Square Enix has released a new version of Mini Ninjas on the App Store for the knockdown price of 69p / 99c.

To explain...

Mini Ninjas is a 2009 third-person action-adventure game for PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, PC, and - most importantly to us - DS.

In this 2013 iOS side-scrolling edition of Mini Ninjas, however, you run, jump, and slash your way through the land in search of a stolen artefact.

One problem, though: the artefact was half-inched by a dragon. Yeah, a ruddy great dragon.

Pocket Ninja

In Mini Ninjas, you're able to play as one of four heroes: Hiro, Futo, Suzume, and Kunoichi. Unsurprisingly, each of these ninja heroes has its own special ability.

Hiro, for example, is able to run along walls, while Kunoichi can use his staff to execute "massive attacking jumps".

For those of you into customisation, you'll be elated to read that you can outfit your characters in different garbs and equip them with various weapons.

If all this sounds right up your samurai street, you can buy the Universal app Mini Ninjas right now for 69p / 99c.

As a youngster, Leighton won a trophy at Butlins for winning musical chairs. Unfortunately, he has never come close to matching that achievement since. Saying that, Leighton did once complete Sonic The Hedgehog, though he might have used Level Select to get to the last Zone. Naughty boy.
